Our Lady's message December 25, 2024
"Dear children! Pray, pray, pray that peace may reign in every heart and overcome all evil and unrest. Thank you for responding to my call."
Dear brothers and sisters, esteemed prayer family,
today is Christmas, the feast of peace. Today the Prince of Peace was born of the pure Virgin Mary. With him, man has gained everything. To lose him means to lose everything. And when man surrenders to Satan who seduces him, he loses everything. Wars, persecutions, murders become a sign of Satan who is more intelligent and cunning than man, seducing and tempting him. Our Lady's thrice-repeated call to prayer is for our sake. He stands against the human heart, the evil that has seized everything like a serious illness. Restlessness is the fire of the Evil One that burns everything. Restlessness is like a storm at sea. It threatens everyone and strikes fear in the bones. Where is the cure? Where is the solution? The Immaculate Mother and the victor over all evil and sin knows how man can and should turn: through prayer - because only through prayer is fear and restlessness healed.
From the beginning of her apparitions, the Queen of Peace has most invited and encouraged prayer. Not just any prayer, but prayer with the heart. Prayer with the heart opens man and his depths of soul to God. In that prayer, that wonderful dialogue between God as Creator and man as creature takes place. In such prayer, Saint Augustine says: - Our heart is restless until it rests in you, God!
Our heart can be seduced. Our heart can be deceived. Our heart knows sin. This desert pursues man and urges him like the prodigal son who finally concludes: I am going back to the Father. I will tell him everything. That father's embrace hides all the depths of the heart. From it flows a river of forgiveness and peace.
And that is a new beginning, a new joy and a new life. How important it is to pray for the gift of prayer with the heart. It is a gift from God. How easy it is to recognize a man who knows how to swim, unlike one who does not. A swimmer is at one with the sea and enjoys the atmosphere. A non-swimmer remains in the shallows. He is full of fear and does not think of swimming. So too, the man who does not pray with his heart remains in the spiritual shallows, looking at the clock. And finally, he concluded that he had no more time.
How pleasant and sweet it is to be near God, breathing prayer with his heart. And with every prayer he completely surrenders himself to his God. He surrenders his cross to Him. He consecrates his life, his family, his church and his homeland to Him. The man who prays with his heart is the greatest benefactor and the greatest builder of the new world. He who prays with his heart makes peace reign in every heart and thus is the one who conquers all evil. It is so wonderful and gracious to live with one who knows how to pray and prays with his heart.
In this month we will pray for the following intentions:
1. For the visionaries and their families and for the parishioners of Medjugorje to be and remain schools of prayer with the heart; that every pilgrim may feel and experience grace in their presence.
2. For all confessors, for the gift of humility and patience; that every encounter with a penitent may be that of the Gospel with a good father.
3. For all the sick and infirm who seek help to find it; may the Queen of Peace be glorified with miraculous signs of conversion and healing. Fra Jozo Zovko
Vatican News speaks to Archbishop Aldo Cavalli, who was sent by Pope Francis as Apostolic Visitor to Medjugorje. He is tasked with reading the messages attributed to the ‘Queen of Peace’ and authorising their publication
Dear children! Pray, pray, pray that peace may begin to reign in every heart and prevail over every evil and peacelessness. Thank you for having responded to my call. (December 25, 2024)
